Need a gift for someone interested in anthropology, world religions, or exotic travel destinations? My first travel photography book, Pashupatinath Temple Burning Ghats, is an excellent choice. Pashupatiinath Temple Burning Ghats is a celebration of Impermanence, a core concept in Hinduism and Buddhism. Shot from a distance so as not to intrude on anyone’s privacy, this 32 page photo essay chronicles a Hindu funeral ritual from a perspective of reverence. All images copyright 2011 by Tammy Winand

Re-Couping & Re-Grouping

Arrived back from 11.5 months in India and Nepal last Monday. Have had bouts of jet lag (erratic sleep & dizziness) which mostly ended two days ago. Body apparently still adjusting to radically different diet, however!

Learning how to use Corel PaintShop Pro X4, slowly slowly. Over the next month I’ll be editing and uploading dozens of travel images to my flickr, deviantArt, redbubble, and 500px photo sites!

Trying to get all my web pursuits back in order. On the design front, I’ve been hard at work on the Zazzle shops (of which I have 13), setting up a new CafePress and updating an older CP shop, updating my Greeting Card Universe, and my Spoonflower fabric design boutique!

So…busy busy busy! There is always more to learn and more to do!

While the Daily Photo Feature will not be resumed at this time, I do hope to feature at least one image, or image series, twice weekly.

Be sure to keep your eye on my “sister” tumblr where my design work is featured!
